On Wednesday the big boys went on their traditional fishing trip. They go out on a boat that takes them just off the coast and they go bottom fishing (whatever that means:) This isn't their boat but it looks like it.
We go to pick them up and watch them clean the fish.
The whole catch already to take home.
Later that afternoon while the boys napped and recuperated we took the kids up to see the cheese factory at Tillamook,
and out to the light house at Cape Meares.
I love both of these places. I'm fascinated by how things are made, so I could analyze the factory line for hours.
Anna, however, was mostly interested in getting her ice cream cone.
We also got to sample the free cheese and buy the squeaky cheese.
The boys ate their ice cream outside.
The girls gathered around an inside table.
After the factory we drove out to Cape Meares. This is such a beautiful place. The light house looks like it is going to be tall because you hike down to it from above.
But when you get there it is the cutest little light house you ever saw.
There are beautiful trails all around it and a funky growing tree they call the octopus tree. Here's Whitney, Jakeb and Josh in front of said tree.
A great day of outings and exploring.
