Tyler and Carisa's Wedding

Well as you can see by the Photo above, the happy couple was very happy. Tyler is my oldest nephew. I was 15 years old when he was born. For the first two years of his life he was the only grandchild. We hovered around him like everyone hovers around Anna now. He has a special place in my heart. They were married on August 2, 2008 in the Boise Temple. David and I both pointed out that he could have waited one week and got married on 08-08-08, but I guess they didn't want to miss the opening ceremonies of the Olympics:) The wedding was very beautiful. Carisa has great taste. Everything looked elegant and classy and very simple. The best, of course was being all together with our family. All my siblings were there, and most of my nieces and nephews, Aunt Marilyn, with my cousin Tricia and her four girls, my cousin Jennifer, Aunt Dixie and Uncle Robert, and of course, my new grand nephew, Thomas (who I didn't get any pictures of-his parents did a pretty good job of hiding him most of the time:)

Anna is waiting patiently at first, but she asked me every few minutes if she could take off her pretty dress yet.

This is my big brother Kevin, the proud father of the groom, and the newest grandpa in the family. Doesn't Tyler look handsome?
This is right after they cleaned up from really smooshing the cake all over each other's faces. It was a really pretty cake. I love the flowers and the ribbon.
This is Jared (Tyler's younger brother), and his wife Sam. They got married about a year and a half ago. They are a very cute couple and compliment each other perfectly. We love Sam!
They did the coolest thing at the throwing of the bouquet. Without letting any of them see she undid the tape on the bouquet of white roses, so that when she threw it, it came apart and white roses went everywhere. It was the best thing I've ever seen done.
These are the only three single gentelmen they could round up to catch the garter. They are three of my nephews. From left to right, Matt(brother of the groom), William(age 7), and Chris (Matt's twin). William had no idea what he was doing there, and of course the big boys each took a step to the outside and made sure that William caught the garter. He asked afterwards, "what is this thing anyway?" The answer is, "no one really knows".
They had a little dancing and we danced as a family. Do you think we are a little focused on our only child? She really needs a sibling, but no luck yet.
When they left we all blew bubbles. It was very cool. I've never seen that work before, but her sister organized us in to two lines and made sure everyone had plenty of bubbles. They also had a lot of family and friends there right to the end.
Matt and Chris took charge of the car with a lot of help from others. The entire inside was full of balloons, toilet paper and confetti.
Anna really loved the balloons, but she was very concerned that Tyler and Carisa would not be able to leave because their car was too full. I promised her that they would find a way to leave. As we were all waving good bye someone yelled, "Have fun!" Carisa's mom yelled, "Have fun storming the castle." Laurie was standing next to her and said, "huh, I've never heard it called that before." Luckily, Carisa's mom did not understand what Laurie was saying and just explained that it was a quote from Princess Bride. I'm sure they did have fun storming the castle:) We sure had fun at the party.
